About

GoGlean is a community-based fruit sharing project initiated by Chetan Mangat and April Lee in 2007 in Honolulu, Hawai'i. They recognized the disconnect between the lack of availability of moderately priced, organic, and locally grown fruit in the grocery stores and farmers' markets in Hawai'i, and the over abundance of mangoes going to waste on trees all over the city. As a practical solution to bridging this gap, they decided to create an online network to foster connections between the fruit consumers and the bearers of excess fruit!

The "GoGleaners" are open to collaboration and support for this project. If you are a developer, social activist, or someone who just likes the idea, please feel free to contact us at chetan [at] chetanmangat.org.
